Maoist bans Thabal Chongba in election

Imphal, January 04 2012:
The proscribed UG group Maoist Communist Party, Manipur in a statement appealed to the people of the state not to organise Thabal Chongba before the general election.
Imposing a ban on Thabal Chongba programmes before the election, the statement warned persons who run Band Groups, Sound Service and Light Service not to take orders for such events.
If found, they will be dealt directly under the rules and regulation of the Maoist, the statement said, adding that in order to prevent unwanted incidents in the upcoming elections, Maoist is trying its best to stop any poll related festivities including feast and gatherings.
It also appealed to the people of the state to boycott the upcoming election, terming it as a tool of India government to install a puppet government of their own in the state.
