MSCP announces list of candidates

Imphal, January 04 2012:
The Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP) today announced its candidates for the first phase to contest in the coming State Assembly election schedule on January 28 .
For the first phase, MSCP has declared the names of its 17 candidates.
The names of the candidates declared by Party President, Y Mani at its head office at Palace Compound today, include Y Mani for Wangoi A/C, Adim Pamei for Nungba A/C, Vivek Raj Wangkhem for Kshetrigao A/C, Bountia Keishing for Phungyar A/C, Okram Henry for Wangkhei A/C, Dr Jainson Haokip for Henglep A/C, Onjamang Haokip for Tengnoupal A/C, Bheigyachandra Shamufaba for Thongju A/C, Thiyam Yaima for Bishnupur A/C, L Khagemba Pilot for Mayang Imphal A/C, K Thamarjit for Keirao A/C, Ch Ganeshlal for Keishamthong A/C, N Shyamananda for Uripok A/C, L Lala for Khundrakpam A/C, H Kulachandra for Thanga A/C, Lumkholal for Saikot A/C and Md Jalaluddin for Jiribam A/C .
Speaking on the occasion, Y Mani said that the Party will field its candidates in 40 Assembly Constituencies of the state.
The party will be announcing its candidates for the second phase on January 9.It is hopeful that at least 14/15 candidates of the party will come out successful in the election.
He further said that the Party will not go for any sort of pre-poll alliance.
The Party is not "B" Party of the Congress as rumoured nor has entered any alliance with the Congress party.
However, the party will may go for post-poll alliance with other like minded parties to form the next government.
The party stands against corruption and will work to bring peace in the society.
The function was also attended by party spokesperson Vivek Raj Wangkhem, Vice President Adim Pamei, President of Women Wing Bountia Keishing and other intending candidates.
