Tejkumar stood out in with a figure of 66 runs off 35 balls and 1/22 in bowling as Model registered an easy win over Sunami in the group A to march into the semi final of the Hercules Cup on Sunday.
Model won the toss and opted to bat and their batting starts in a hurricane with Tejmani thrashing Sunami bowlers all around the ground almost at will.
Keeping the momentum Iboyaima raced his way to 36 of 35 balls.
While Viking rounded off the flogging Sunami received from Tejmani with 29 from 22 balls and post a mammoth target of 197 for Sunami.
Sunami wilted under the pressure of the huge score and could keep the required run rate under control during their run chase.
Sumami batsmen helplessness was compounded with fine spin bowling of Iboyaima.
Iboyaima's slow right arm off break exposed the inexperienced of Sunami batsmen and returned with a figure of 3/15.With assistance from Tejkumar (1/22) and Mangi (1/10) helpless Sunami was restricted to 145 .
Meanwhile, in the other group B match, Al-Amin achieved a rare victory when they defeated defending Elite cricket champion CRAU by 1 wicket in a low scoring match.
CRAU opted to bat after winning the toss, CRAU batsmen could not bring in the experience into their batting and ended up with a partly score of 119/9 in 20 overs.
However, CRAU bowlers staged a fightback and almost bowl out Al-Amin.
Sinat was the most successful bowler for CRAU, returning with a figure of 3/14 while there 1 wicket each for Bodai and Washington.
Naosad Ali defied the CRAU spirited response and stood firm scoring a patient 37 off 35 balls.
Ringu gained confidence in the company of Ali and produce a cameo of 36 off 22 balls.
The last wicket partnership of Al-Amin give the shock to CRAU of losing to a minnow, by mixing caution with aggression, when the target was achieved with two balls to spare.
On Monday, PRTC & Sunami and YWC & CRAU will continue the action.
