JAC threatens NH-37 bandh over missing of Den

Imphal, March 15 2015:
Locals of Sagolband Meino Leirak here on Sunday held a protest dharna over the missing of Thingbaijam Den, also known as Karnamei.
Whereabouts of Thing-baijam Den (35), resident of Sagolband Meino Leirak, is still unknown to his family since he was reported missing from Guwahati Down Town Hospital on February 24 last.
The joint action committee (JAC) constituted at the back of disappearance of Thingbaijam Den has threatened to call a 48-hour National Highway-37 (Imphal-Jiribam road) bandh if the Manipur Government refuses to take action in connection with the missing within five days.
Den left home for Guwahati along with one of his friends named Wahengbam Premananda hailing from Nambol Khathong, Bishnupur district on February 22 for medical treatment of the later at Guwahati Down Town Hospital.
Den was detained by some security guards of the hospital on the charge of drinking and roving around the hospital campus around 3 am that day.
However, he was reportedly freed by the guards after confining in their custody for some time, but has gone missing without a trace since then.
His mother, Th Priyoshakhi lodged a missing complaint at Imphal West Police Station on February 27 seeking police help to trace his son.
At the same time, Den's elder brother Th Naranjit has also lodged a missing report with Dispur Police Station.
The family said the Dispur Police has failed to give any information regarding missing of Den till date.
Priyoshakhi appealed to the concerned authorities to help trace his son and bring back him home at the earliest.
