Imphal, March 15 2015:
Alleging that there is no transparency in all the development works being taken up in the State, BJP Manipur Pradesh has asked if any tender process for construction of drains on either side of Tiddim road from Keishampat to Malom was held, and if yes when.
Speaking to some media persons at his office today, BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary M Ashinikumar asserted that the State Government has to the gutters the guidelines when it comes to implementation of development programmes.
He categorically questioned the sanctioned amount for construction of drains along Keishampat-Malom section of Tiddim Road and whether any tender process was held for the same work and if yes, when.
He further questioned the logic of how the Deputy Secretary (Works) authorised the PWD Chief Engineer to invite/conduct restricted tender.
He went to ask whether the Works Deputy Secretary's written order can supersede the Finance Department's standing order issued on August 8, 2013 .
BJP National president Amit Shah has convened a joint meeting of all BJP office bearers of the North Eastern States to discuss governance and development in the region.
Ashinikumar said that BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba, general secretary (organization) S Premananda and himself would participate in the conference.
A detailed report about the anomalies, misdeeds and misgovernance committed by the Congress Government in the State during the past 13 years would be tabled at the conference, Ashinikumar said.
It is the Government itself which is compromising the State's security and this is evident from the dysfunctional CCTV cameras installed at Imphal at the cost of around Rs 10 crore.
BJP Manipur Pradesh would raise the Rs 240 crore scandal about phumdi clearance from Loktak lake.
The Sate BJP team would also put up proposals for development of Imphal-Jiribam, Imphal-Moreh, Imphal-Mao and Imphal-Churachandpur highways.
The team would further urge the BJP leaders to upgrade RIMS Radiotherapy Department to the status of a Regional Centre for Transitional Genomics for Cancer Detection and Treatment, Ashinikumar added.
