Governors Cup Invitational Polo Tournament: Chingkheihunba and Manipur Police have contrasting wins

Imphal, March 15 2015:
L Atangba scored the first two goals of Chingkheihunba in the group match of 25th Governors Cup Invitational Polo Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung but it was Th Nanao and Ch Premjit of Meiraba scored two goals each to lead 4-2 in the first chukker on Sunday.
After that Th Kaoba and L Atangba scored the next two goals in second chukker giving Chingkheihunba parity.
K Romeo restored the lead by scoring a goal for Meiraba to end the chukker with 5-4 score.

Chingkheihunba took over the reins in the ensuing chukker and pumped in four, Th Kaoba scored thrice and L Atangba one, to go on the top with three goals cushion at 8-5 score.
Meiraba fight back in the fourth and final chukker with a fine goal from L Menjit.
The fight back was cut short when Th Kaoba and L Atangba score a piece to take Chingkheihunba to a comfortable victor by 10-6 on the score board.
In the second group match of the competition, Manipur Police Polo Club - B maintained an early hold of the match over Khurai Polo Club by hammering in two goals by T Pradipkumar and H Abung Khuman in the first chukker to go up 2-0 .
There was no respite for Khurai in the second chukker as H Abung Khuman fires three goals and M Bebekananda added one goal.
At the half way mark it was Manipur Police comfortably in command with 6-0 lead.
The misery continued in the next chukker when Police team pumped in four more goals, three from Kh Nongpoknganba and one from M Bebekananda, to round off the chukker with 10-0 on the board.
More salt was rubbed on Khurais wound when Bebekananda added two more goals in the final chukker.
L Bisheshwar, Khurai Polo Club, a scored a goal to bring some respectability to the match which otherwise was a one way traffic.
When the final whistle was blown the score line reads 12-1 in favour of Manipur Police Polo Club � B .
