National Martial Arts games and festival begins

Imphal, August 29 2016:
The First Manipur Martial Arts Games and Festival 2016 which will be held for three days began today at Khuman Lampak main stadium under the auspices of Martial Arts Council of Manipur (MACOM) .
Three hundred boys and girls from Assam, Bihar, Nagaland, Orissa, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal and another 300 players from the State are participating in the festival.
The martial art game will be held in two different categories.

The two categories are Mukna and Thang-Ta and Cheibi, Kungfu, Taekwondo and Karate.
As a tradition, Leisemba Sanajaoba, the King of Manipur lit the torch to mark the opening of the festival.
Ng Nongyai, Associate VP, MOA; L Tony, Major 6 AR and Ng Jit Khumancha, president AMACO attended as presidium members at the opening ceremony of the festival.
