Manipur register second straight victory in U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy

Imphal, December 09 2021:
Manipur enjoyed a comprehensive 274-run win over Mizoram in their Plate Group match of the Men's U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy 2021 on Thursday at Vikash Cricket ground, Bhubaneshwar.
Manipur declared their second innings at 220 for 7 and then skittled out Mizoram for 72 in 39.1 overs.
Earlier, the state squad had scored a total of 238 (all out) in their first innings.
Jotin Pheiroijam shone with the bat in the second innings with a blistering knock of 117 off 74 balls.
Suresh Singh (39) and RK Herachandra (33) were other noticeable contributors for Manipur.
Jotin further made his mark with the ball as he and Joyraj scalped 3 wickets each to help Manipur make short work of the opposition's batting lineup for an emphatic victory.
Aziz Mirza took two wickets and Kadamjit chipped in with a wicket.
In their first innings, Mizoram were bowled out for 112 in 50 overs.
This was Manipur's second straight win after they made a flying start to their campaign beating Meghalaya.
The state team has now topped their Plate Group with 12 points from two matches.
