Manipur emerge overall champs in sub-junior category

Imphal, January 07 2018:
Sub-Junior Boys and Girls Cycling team representing Manipur emerged overall champions with a total of 43 points at the 70th Senior, 47th Junior and 33rd Sub-Junior National Track Cycling Championship 2018 .
Manipur bagged 7 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals in this championship which began on January 2 under the supervision of Cycling Federation of India at IG Velodrome, Delhi.
Natobaly, E Lanchenba and Y Rojit who are also currently taking part in the National Camp set new National records in the individual pursuit and time trial events of the championship on December 4 .
In sprint team (junior boys) event, K James, L Ronald and Y Rojit won a gold medal for Manipur by taking 47.573 seconds.
The trio also bagged another gold medal in the sprint team event of sub-junior boys' category with a time of 47.752 seconds.
In the sprint event for sub-junior girls, Y Thaja and Kh Diana took 40.501 seconds to win a silver medal.
The duo also competed in the junior girls category and claimed a bronze with a time of 41.213 seconds.
The team were led by Oinam Basanta as manager and O Premabati as coach.
