MCA T20 Luwangpokpa Trophy Model Club, YWC notch up handsome wins

Model Club, Chingamakha and YWC, Langthabal notched up convincing wins against their respective rivals today in the ongoing MCA T20 Luwangpokpa Trophy at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangshangbam today.
In the first match of the day, Model Club took on YWC, Patsoi and managed to win the match by 5 wickets outplaying the rival team in every department of the game.
On winning the toss, YWC opted to bat first and the bowlers of Model Club delivered with the ball, beating the batsmen of YWC consistently with their fine line and length.
Amitra of YWC did well to keep his composure and made a calculated 33 runs off 45 balls.
Not really opening up, Amitra kept to singles and some quick running to lend credibility and respect to the total of YWC.
Rakesh was the other notable contributor for YWC with 16 runs off 20 balls.
For Model Club, Bishworjit led the way in capturing two wickets.
Mangi and Tejkumar chipped in with one wicket each.
At the end of the allotted 20 overs, YWC had managed to total 89 runs for the loss of seven wickets.
Faced with a target of 90 runs to win the match, the batsmen of Model Club got down methodically finding the gaps and punishing all the loose balls.
Priyobarta led the way in sending the ball past the boundaries and he compiled a well made 22 runs off only 18 balls and carried his bat through the match.
Al Bahid kept him company with a patient knock of 16 runs off 26 balls while Dharmendra chipped in with 17 runs.
For YWC Pinky led the way grabbing two wickets followed by Rakesh, Amitra and Prameshwor with one wicket each.
Model Club totalled 91 runs for the loss of five wickets in 17.3 overs and downed YWC by five wickets.
For his quick 22 runs off 18 balls, Priyobarta of Model Club bagged the man of the match award.
In another match YWC, Langthabal downed Napsa, Kha-Imphal by 60 runs with Bishwas of YWC leading the way with a swashbuckling 50 runs off only 33 balls.
YWC won the toss and elected to bat first and their batsmen went on the offensive from the first ball.
Bishwas led the way in making a quick 50 runs off 33 balls while Prafullomani also made a quick fire 35 runs off only 18 balls.
Jicko chipped in with 21 runs off 36 balls.
YWC wrapped up their innings for 143 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.
For NAPSA, Bonny led the way in taking three wickets while Nitesh and Matthew bagged one wicket each.
Faced with the huge target of 144 runs to win, the batsmen of NAPSA faltered and only Simon put up a semblance of a fight with 23 runs off 37 balls while Ravan made 12 runs off 14 balls and Mitamngamba made 12 runs in 30 balls Prakashwat led the bowling department grabbing three wickets for YWC followed by Bishwas and Johnson with one wicket each.
The innings of NAPSA folded up at 83 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs, handing YWC a 60 runs win.
For his brilliant knock of 50 runs off only 33 balls and for taking one wicket, Bishwas of YWC was awarded the man of the match award.
