Under the National Mission for Manuscript, New Delhi, a 5-day "Preventive conservation workshop on handmade paper manuscript and manuscript exhibition" has kicked off today at the conference hall of the Department of Art and Culture, Palace Compound.
The inaugural function was graced by N Khagendra, Vice-Chancellor, Manipur University of Culture, S Jadumani, social activist, L Ashokumar, retired archaeologist and B Kulachandra, writer as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
N Khagendra, while speaking at the function, appreciated Manipur State Archives for initiating all the necessary measures to conserve Meitei Mayek.
He also deliberated on the important role which people of Manipur can contribute in conserving and promoting Meitei Mayek.
