Kwatha Lai Haoraoba

Imphal, May 30 2013:
The village of Kwatha, which lies near the border town Moreh along the Indo-Myanmar boundary, is the only ancient Meitei inhabitant village in the hills of whole of Manipur.
This Historical Manipuri village witnessed the Lai Haraoba Festival after a gap of two years.
The five day long annual Nongpok Ningthou & Panthoibi Haraoba Kwatha Festival concluded on 27th May 2013 .
Despite heavy rains and poor road connectivity to Kwatha, more than a thousand devotees from all over the state and outside attended in the one of the most known and celebrated Manipuri Lai Haraoba festival.
The Kwatha Nongpok Ningthou & Panthoibi Enat Thouram Committee and Kwatha Village Authorities have extended gratitude to 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR for rendering various assistance and co-operation for the smooth conduct of the festival.
