Lady entrepreneur from State shines at IIM

Manipur is a state where women have excelled in every field.
The State has even produced a woman Olympic medalist MC Mary Kom and mostly recently an Everest summiteer Bidyapati.
The women of the State are not lagging behind their counterparts even in the field of entrepreneurship.
59-year-old Khumujam Ongbi Jina aka Achoubi of Khurai Thoidingjam Leikai is one such lady entrepreneur from the State who has exhibited wide range of creative textile designs and patterns at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad recently winning accolades from high profile people in the Corporate World.
Talking to Hueiyen Lanpao, Jina said that her creative works include designs on cement bags, purse, wall hangings and covers of water bottle and tiffin box.

She is also specialized in weaving traditional silk apparels for both men and women.
Her products are now widely marketed in the State whereby generating substantial monthly income.
Jina also thanked Women Action for Development for their assistance given to her in the manufacture of soaps and detergents.
So far, she has received appreciation certificates from Manipur Science Technology Council (MASTEC) and Women Action for Development (WAD) for her exceptional creative designs and entrepreneurial skills.
Jina further received impetus from the Corporate World when she exhibited her creative textile designs and patterns at IIM-Ahmedabad recently.
People from USA and Australia have expressed their intention for importing her products.
