Scholarship denial infuriates students

Insisting that Government of Manipur take necessary measures for early release of pending scholarship amount entitled to tribal students of DM College of Arts and Commerce, tribal students' unions of the colleges today threatened to launch intense agitation in case there is no positive response.
Briefing media persons at Manipur Press Club today, member of Tribal Students' union of DMC Arts and Commerce HM Achung Kom said DMC Arts alone has 1092 Scheduled Tribe students with another 352 students pursuing commerce studies at DMC Commerce.
Inspite of the scholarship entitlement for the last academic session supposed to be released to the ST students within April this year there is no sign of the same being distributed to the deserving students, explained the member reiterating that any further delay might compel the students resort to agitation.
