AR seizes gold worth Rs 3.74 cr

Imphal, April 17 2019:
Giving a major blow to smuggling activities, unit of Assam rifles acting on specific input apprehended one person carrying 10.86 kgs of gold worth Rs 3.74 crore near Champhai village on April 16, said Eastern Command, Indian Army.
The individual has been identified as Thangjahou Touthang (36), s/o Jangsei Touthang, a resident of Ward No 9, Moreh, said AR .
Thangjahou Touthang and the seized items have been handed over to Customs Department.
