Poll parties dispatched

Imphal, April 17 2019:
More than 2,000 polling parties were dispatched today along with 1,572 polling materials from the Office Complex of the Imphal West Deputy Commissioner, Lamphelpat to ensure smooth conduct of the 17th Lok Sabha election on April 18 from 7am to 4 pm.
The district has 524 polling stations in 13 Assembly Constituencies.
The 13 ACs are 9-Thangmeiband AC, 10-Uripok AC, 11-Sagolband AC, 12-Keishamthong AC, 13-Singjamei AC, 16-Sekmai AC, 17-Lamsang AC, 18-Konthoujam AC, 19-Patsoi AC, 20-Langthabal AC, 21-Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC, 22-Wangoi AC and 23-Mayang Imphal AC .
Overall more than 4,000 security personnel have been utilized to maintain strict vigilance and law and order for the 17th Lok Sabha Election, 2019 in the Imphal West district.
For providing security during the poll hours at polling stations in Imphal West, 8,00 CRPF personnel, 156 State women police, 2,648 civil police and 1,652 armed police personnel are deployed.
An additional 450 State police personnel from Churachandpur, 200 from Kangpokpi, 330 from Chandel and 150 from Ukhrul districts are also being deployed for the election duty in the Imphal West district.
Out of the total number of 524 polling stations, 26 polling stations (2 in each constituency) will be exclusively manned by women and 13 model polling stations (one in each constituency) in the second and final phase of the election tomorrow.
