Bee boxes distributed

In all 30 bee boxes have been distributed to mustard growers of the State at a simple function organised by the Department of Agriculture at its Sanjenthong office premises today.
The event was held with Director (Agriculture) L Palandro Singh, Joint Director G Shamu Kabui and Soil Chemist Rajendro as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Pointing out that 70-80 percent of Manipur's population are farmers, Palandro said only through progress of the farmers would the State acheive overall growth.
He also highlighted that the Department had been sharing method of scientific farming with the local peasants in order to spur agricultural growth.
By extending technological advancement to the farmers some pockets of Manipur has been successfully practising double/triple cropping, Palandro said.
Emphasising on the need for constant rapport between experts of the Department and the farmer community, he also urged farmers who had acquired scientific knowledge at training sessions to share their experience with the farmers of their respective areas.
