Imphal, February 12, 2012:
After 11 days of inspiration tour to Siliguri and Kolkata, a National integration tour consisting of 30 students and two teachers from remote villages of Senapati district arrived at Maram.
The team visited Birla Planetarium, Victoria Memorial, Indian National Museum and various other places of interest apart from meeting GOC Bengal Area Maj Gen KS Kumbar.
The tour had been flagged off by GOC Red Shield Division Maj Gen Binoy Poonnen in the presence of Commander of 59 Mountain Brigade Brig AK Narula on January 30 and it was flagged in at Maram on February 9 by Commandant of 5 Assam Rifles.
On the other hand, 20 children and four teachers, who are on a National integration tour organized by 5/9 Gorkha Rifles of Loktak Brigade under the aegis of Red Shield Division have visited Rashtrapati Bhawan, India Gate and Raj Ghat where they paid tribute to the Father of the Nation.
They also visited Mughal Gardens, the Circular Garden, Mini Zoo, Marble Museum, Kitchen Museum, Gift Gallery, Delhi Durbar and the famous Ashoka Hall, the venue for various ceremonial functions.
