Imphal, May 19 2014 :
Federation of Regional Indigenous Societies (FREINDS) has condemned the alleged high handedness of 22 AR B-COY Captain towards its volunteers of Thoubal District Council in connection with verification of some non-Manipuri speaking persons at Kosangtabi under Sugnu Police Station on May 18 .
In a statement, FREINDS said that volunteers of the organization like any other normal citizens have the right to stop non-locals from entering the State and mentioned that the unfortunate incident came at a time when many sections of the society are putting in concerted efforts to curb rampant influx of non-locals into the State.
