Create awareness on human trafficking: Madhuchandra

Human traffickers target rural areas in poor economic conditions.
It is important to create an awareness and to remain alert about human trafficking, said Rev Madhuchandra, All India Christians Council in a seminar on Human Rights held at the campus of Adimjati Boys' Hostel, Chingmeirong, Imphal.
Speaking in the occasion, Madhuchandra stressed on the need of a collective effort and responsibility to prevent human trafficking.
He urged the people, especially in the rural areas, to stay alert when someone offers lucrative jobs and other opportunities to children.
There were many cases of human trafficking by alluring innocent persons with lucrative job offers.
He further said, cases of harassments to people of NE region in Delhi are often heard.
In such cases, victims should call for help to the NE helpline.
