Imphal, January 12:
The Naga Peoples' Movement for Human Rights, Ukhrul unit, has strongly condemned the killing of Tonthang Koshang by KNA cadres on January 7 near Molnom village.
In a statement the rights body recalled that Koshang was killed at the same spot where one Tangkhul youth and one Kuki elder were shot dead and added that this shows that no measures have been taken up for the security of the civilians.
The Govt's assurance to open a security post at the said route has been proven to be a big lie, said NPMHR and questioned whether the people should continue to trust the Govt any longer.
Thawai Youth Club and Thawai Katamnao Long have also strongly condemned the killing of T Koshang and termed the murder as barbaric and insane.
Reacting strongly against KNA's charges that Koshang was involved in the killing of TT Kuki, the two bodies stated that the allegations are baseless and unfounded and had been done to justify their inhuman action.
