Padmashree Kh Mangi feted

Padmashree Khangembam Mangi a renowned Pena scholar who was honoured with the prestigious Padmashree award by the President of India on the eve of Republic Day was felicitated by the Ima Panthoibi Welfare Youths' Centre today at the office of the centre.
Khumukcham Joykishan, president, Thangmeiband Kendra Development Committee and Retd Principal DM College RK Sanajaoba graced the felicitation function as presidium members.
Joykishan said that every people should uphold their own tradition and culture to live with dignity and that Khangembam Mangi has been honoured for his work and dedication in the field of Pena.
Padmashree Khangembam Mangi is the son of Late Manjuri and Late Tomei who was also a Pena master.
He was born in 1926.He started his career in the field of Pena when he was 27.
