With the postmortem report suggesting the cause of death of RK Kewalchand Singh as "from blunt force injury to the head and chest", his father has requested police to investigate into the case treating it as a culpable homicide.
Forty-five year old Kewalchand of Sagolband Bijoy Govinda, Imphal was found dead on the ground of a building at Thangal Bazar belonging to his family around midnight of January 12.An UD case registered with the City Police sating that he died after he fell from his own five storeyed building.
However, the report of the postmortem conducted at RIMS suggested "the death was due to intracranial hemorrhage associated with multiple rib fractures resulting from blunt force injury to the head and chest".
RK Samarendra Singh, the father of the deceased, has written to the City PS, through the DGP, requesting for investigation into the death of his son.
The postmortem report has confirmed my worst fears, the death of my son was not an accident, he had been murdered elsewhere, and his dead body was placed under my building at Thangal Bazar to appear that he had fallen from the roof, he said.
He also said his son's body had a wound in the forehead with fragments of a brick raising suspicion that he had been attacked with a brick.
Three rib bones were broken, which again looked like the result of a severe beating.
Injuries to all other major parts of the organs including external injuries were absent he said while requesting the police to treat the case as a culpable homicide.
