Imphal, June 17 2015 :
Chicken prices have almost gone up to 50 percent in the past two months and these don't seem to be dropping any time soon as poultry products are coming to Manipur from outside States.
The hike in the chicken prices has led to higher costs for chicken lovers and restaurants alike.
Now, dress and live chicken prices have grown to Rs 250 and Rs 180 respectively per kg in Imphal.
Earlier, these prices were fixed at Rs 180 and Rs 130 respectively.
Chicken centre owners in Khurai area told Hueiyen Lanpao on Tuesday the recent conditions of outbreak of bird flu and subsequent ban on import of chicks and poultry feeds have pushed chicken prices and other poultry products in Manipur.
