Maintaining that no force would be able to break the integrity of the State if the people stand united, Y Mani Khuman urged the public to collectively pay homage to the martyrs who had sacrificed their lives to protect the State's territorial integrity.
Certain groups and individuals have been putting in efforts to divide the State since the past many years, the chairman said and added that they would never succeed in their attempt as people want a united Manipur.
He said that the seed for this divisive force was sown in Bangkok when the Government of India extended the ceasefire agreement with NSCN (IM) without territorial limit in 2001 .
The Centre's decision was opposed by the people of the State who declared a 66-hour State-wide bandh with effect from June 15, 2001 before people in large number erupted in a huge protest on June 18 .
Regarding Dzuko valley issue, Mani Khuman alleged that the State Government has not taken up any tangible step to prevent encroachment on State territory so far.
He said that UCM and AMUCO had visited Mao and discussed the matter with Mao Council recently.
Regarding the matter, he also urged the Government to take up earliest possible action.
He said that border fencing along Indo-Myanmar border has been halted as the two countries have not finalized the actual boundary.
