Manipur bound truck set on fire

Kohima, June 17 2015 :
A Manipur bound truck was set on fire, while one Tata Mobile mini truck was damaged by some miscreants on Monday night.
The incident happened between Visema village and Khuzama village at around 11.30 pm.
As per reports, it was the intervention of Kohima police personnel that saved two more trucks from being burnt and three more Tata Mobile mini trucks from getting damaged.
SDPO Kohima said that one truck was set on fire by the time the police reached the spot.
The miscreants who were about to repeat the same act on the other two trucks, reportedly fled from the spot after seeing the arrival of the police personnel, the police officer said.
At the spot, the police found out that diesel /kerosene was poured on the other two trucks.
According to police, the front tyre of one Tata Mobile mini truck and the hood of one truck were also damaged.
All the 3 trucks were transporting sand while the Tata Mobile mini trucks were carrying commodities.
The SDPO further said that the drivers of all the seven vehicles fled from the spot, however, they were called back and were later sent off to their destination under police security.
Till the time of filing this report, the identities of the miscreants could not be ascertained.
