International Yoga day

Manipur will join the rest of the world in celebrating the International Yoga Day on June 21 .
The observance will be held at different centres like Bal Bhawan, Khuman Lampak, Lainingthou Khamlangba Shanglen, Uripok, Thoubal Mela ground, Lamlai Chalou, Lainingthou Khoriphaba, Nambol, Naharolshingtha Kanglup community hall, Wangkhei Keithel Asangbi, Naorem Leikai community hall.
Bharat Swabhiman Trust and Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Manipur will organise the observance programmes.
Demonstration of yoga for over 35 minutes will mark the programme at all centres, according to the organisers.
Th Nilakumar Singh, State prabhari of BST said that Yoga is an ancient practice for the well being of the mind and soul and mainly to eradicate negative thoughts.
The United Nations General Assembly had declared June 21 as the International Yoga Day in December last year after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a call for the same, and the Central Government has lined up a series of events across the country to celebrate it.
At the same time, NYK, Imphal West will observe International Day of Yoga at Kuranganayani Hall, DC Complex, Lamphel.
DYC and Yuva Kriti will also observe the day.
