Corrigendum
Please refer to the news item published on October 25 under the heading "MPCC okays Jyotin, Bijoy." It is hereby clarified that the photograph of Khumukcham Joykishan was wrongly inserted in place of Jyotin Waikhom due to a gross oversight.
As indicated by the heading and the contents of the news items, the two photographs should have been those of Bijoy Koijam and Jyotin Waikhom.
The inadvertent error is deeply regretted.
Snake bite victim saved
The medical team of 2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under aegis of IGAR (South) saved the life of a snake bite victim on Oct 25, according to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S).
The victim named Mitesh Kumar (9) resident of Khekman, Thoubal district was bitten by an unidentified snake while returning back from farm along with his family and was immediately rushed to the unit hospital of 2 Assam Rifles.
The victim was immediately attended by the medical team and necessary first aid was administered on priority.
Later the victim stabilized and was subsequently discharged at 7:30 pm after keeping him under observation for one hour.
Trees planted
Members of the Manipur SSB Pensioner Welfare Association, Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi, planted fruit bearing trees in and around Yaibilen Children Home complex, Keibi Sanapat today, a statement informed.
The association also organised a meal for the home inmates later in the day.
Staff and managing committee of Yaibilen Children Home has expressed gratitude to Manipur SSB Pensioner Welfare Association for their kindness.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan
2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under aegis of IGAR (South) organised cleanliness drive at Yairipok and Bamon Leikai on October 25 as a part of 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' initiative.
During the occasion the troops of 2 Assam Rifles also joined hands with locals in cleaning the compound of Youth Star Club Bamon Leikai near Yairipok market, according to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S) .
The Municipal Councillor K Rupachandra, Youth Star Club Secretary Sunil Kumar, President Somen Singh, Meira Paibi members and locals joined hand during the occasion for clearing the area.
