Imphal, July 01:
Reacting to a news report on alleged denial of Nevirapine to HIV positive an expectant mother by the doctors/paramedics on duty, RIMS authority has asserted that the internal inquiry conducted found that the allegation was not factual.
In a statement, Media Advisor of RIMS Iboyaima Laithangbam said the expectant mother in question was administered her dose of Nevirapine one day ahead and it was felt not necessary to prescribe the same again and the doctors decided to administer the dose to the baby.
So there is no question of negligence on the part of the doctors and nurses on duty of RIMS or denying the said drug to the expectant mother or any patient in RIMS, the statement contended.
