AMSU urges NSF to review ban decision

Imphal, February 24 2016:
General secretary of All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), Manjit Sarangthem in a press meet at AMSU HQs said that the ban imposed on Meitei/ Manipuri owned vehicles in Naga inhabited areas by Naga Students' Federation (NSF) is communal as they cannot single out one particular community ofthe State, which is inhabited by more than 33 tribes.
It has urged NSF to review the ban imposed in the interest of the students appearing in class XII and X examinations.
On the other hand, it has flayed the Government for not taking action against the Manipur police commandos involved in the February 14 incident and demanded immediate action.
It also said that NSF would be held responsible for any disturbance or harm caused to students appearing for exams in Naga areas.
It also stated that the vehicle documents of 30 trucks which were stationed between Mayangkhong and Ningthoufam , Senapati district were seized by some uknown persons and NSF should shoulder the responsibility ofhanding over the said documents to the owners of the trucks.
