Locals to launch anti-drugs drive

Locals of Tentha have unanimoulsy resolved to ban inebriated substances and poker games in the area during a public meeting held at Tentha Khongbal multi-complex hall yesterday, reports our correspondent.
The meeting was organised by local organisations of Tentha and Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol and graced by Tentha Gram Panchayat Pradhan Naorem (O) Khomdonsana, Dr M Rajendro, retd Senior Lecturer, Thoubal College and social activist Kartik Maiba as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Attended by a large number of people of Tentha Khunou, Tentha Khongban, Tentha Mathak Leikai, Tentha Khunjao, Tentha Tuwaband, Tentha Makha Leikai and Tentha Marongband, the gathering have decided to launch an extensive drive against selling and consumption of drugs and other inebriated substances.
The gathering also resolved to ban poker games which have reportedly retarded various activities which would bring growth and development in society.
Reviving the All Tentha Nupi Marup as as to work for the welfare of the people was also resolved during the meeting.
