Bob Khathing Sports Week concludes : UUFC beat Loree FC to lift football title

UUFC lifted the title of the 4 th Major Bob Khathing Sports Meet -District Level Football Tournament, today at TNL Ground, Ukhrul.
Organised by the 41 AR under the aegis of 10 Sector, Ukhrul, the closing function was graced by John Khathing son of late Bob Khathing, UDSA president Shangreiso A Shimray and DIG 10 Sector Sandeep Mohala as chief guest and guests of honour respectively.
In the football final match today, UUFC clinched a thrilling 3-2 win against Loree FC via penalty shootout.
The match began Loree FC taking a 1-0 lead after Amos found the target in the 34th minute.
Soon after the breather, UUFC bounced back with Wungramchan netting the equalizer in the 52nd minute.
Penalty was brought in to decide the match winner.
In the penalty shoot-out, UUFC players K Reisangmi and Shomi found their targets while Loree FC witnessed only one goal from Mashun.
Julian Keishing and Shomi of UUFC were named the best and most promising player respectively.
Flirty FC's Taonreingam clinched the highest goal scorer title of the tournament while the best disciplined team trophy went to 41 AR.
Women Volleyball : In the volleyball event, Evergreen edged past UVC 3-1 in the final match held at 41 AR outpost at Wino Bazar, Ukhrul.
PHILA were adjudged the best disciplined team.
Altogether 8 teams participated in the volleyball tournament.
Choral competition : The first edition of inter-denomination choral competition in the name of Late Major Bob Khathing was held yesterday evening at Viewland Baptist Church, Ukhrul.
Out of 11 choral groups, Viewland Baptist Church was impressive to lift the title.
