Road sinks at Tengnoupal

A portion of NH-102 has sunk near Tengnoupal following heavy incessant downpour and vehicular movement has been paralysed .
Moreh police under Chandel SP N Herojit Meitei, Additional SP M Mubi Singh and Moreh police station OC Umar Alam undertook an extensive emergency repair work to restore vehicular along the highway to normal.
Though, four-wheeler vehicles managed to cross the stretch with much difficulty, it has been assumed that the condition of the road might worsen if it continues to rain.
Border Trade Chamber of Commerce, Moreh president V Sekhar appelaed to the State Government to initiate immediate repairing work.
"Good connectivity is required to bring economy development in the State.
With this kind of deplorable road condition, traders and businessmen would be affected," he added.
Kuki Students' Organisation, Tengnoupal Block president Daniel Mate asserted that repeated appeals have been made in the past to repair the said road.
Commoners are now suffering due to the negligence of the State Government.
