Vacancies in YAS Department to be filled soon: Letpao

Youth Affairs and Sports Minister, Letpao Haokip has stated that MPSC has been approached to conduct recruitment for the vacancies in the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports Department.
The Minister made the statement while responding to queries during an inaugural function of a weeklong sanitation campaign organised by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex today in view of the growing mess at the sports complex and its utilisation for COVID related purposes since April.
The inaugural programme of the weeklong campaign was also attended by Bobby Waikhom, Commissioner Youth Affairs and Sports; T Phullen Meitei, Director Youth Affairs and Sports and other officials and staff of the Department.
The strength of staff in the Department has shrunk significantly with many posts lying vacant for a very long period , Letpao said while adding that the promotion of staff has been effectuated and relevant instructions have been forwarded to the Manipur Public Service Commission to initiate the recruitment work to fill up the vacant posts.
While assuring to ensure cleanliness and best look of the Khuman Lampak, the YAS Minister also apprised all that half of the proposal for construction of 32 mini sports complex across the State has been approved by the Sports Ministry and necessary work will be commencing very soon.
He also appealed to all sportspersons, sports lovers and clubs to join hands in the cleanliness drive to be conducted over a span of seven days and contribute in making the Sports Complex a beautiful and litter free space where people of all age could continue sporting and fitness activities.
The Minister also hinted for a review to study the possibility of resumption of activities for various disciplines at the Sports Complex as soon as possible in line with the Unlock 5 measures.
