Imphal, March 15 2015:
Homeopathy Medical Association of India, Manipur Branch has said that it was unfortunate to get contradictory statement from Directorate of Health Services regarding taking of Arsenic Album 30 as a preventive medicine for Swine Flu.
It may be mentioned that Directorate of Health Services Director Dr Okram Ibomcha in an interview given to AIR Imphal said that WHO and India Government guidelines do not recognise Arsenic Album 30, and those who take the medicine are doing so at their own risk.
Speaking at a press conference, Homeopathy Medical Association of India, Manipur Branch president Dr M Nara said that Swine Flu has affected thousands of people in Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu till date.
In Manipur as well, the disease has claimed the life of a person while another person who showed similar symptoms of Swine Flu died recently, he added.
As such, it was unfortunate to make contradictory statements on Arsenic Album 30 by the Health Services Director although the medicine is being taken widely as a preventive pill all over the country, Dr Nara said.
Saying that the country has now separate Departments for allopathy and homeopathy, Dr Nara asked the Director not to interfere in others affair.
Maintaining that medicinal qualities of Arsenic Album 30 have already been widely acknowledged across the globe, Dr Nara said that those, who have claimed that the medicine is not recognised by WHO, are ignorant about it.
Ever since a separate AYUSH Department was opened in Manipur, there has been a clash of interest among some individuals who are running after the Director's post, Dr Nara said.
He also urged all concerned not to put the common people in dilemma due to this clash of interest.
Saying that no Homeopathy medicine has side effects Dr Nara said that Arsenic Album 30 must be taken without water.
Children below 5 years of age must be given one pill a day while kids between 6 to 13 years of age must take two pills a day for three days consecutively.
He added that adults must take four pills a day for three days.
Homeopathy Association of India, Manipur Branch vice-president Dr Purnachandra, general secretary Dr H Temba and former Deputy Director of Regional Research Institute of Homeopathy, Dr Birkumar were also present at the press conference.
