Slow Loris rescued

Imphal, July 12, 2013:
Volunteers of People for Animal (PFA), Thoubal have taken an injured Bengal Slow Loris, which was rescued from Heirok Part-2 Mayai Leikai, into their custody.
The Loris was rescued by members of Divine Life Club of the locality, said a press release.
The Loris bore slingshot injuries on the head and neck and the forelimb of the animal was fractured.
The Loris is being kept under intensive care of PFA Thoubal after the fractured bone was restructured by the doctors of State Veterinary Hospital.
On the otherhand, a Bengal monitor lizard (Schedule 1 animal), a tokay gecko and a leopard (keijenglang) were released by the volunteers of PFA Thoubal into wild at the forest of Naharup Panggong Makhong, which is being conserved by Eastern Ecological Conservation Organisation (EECO).
EECO president N Amusana and secretary N Romen were also present at the occasion.
The organisation is running Sheloi Langmei Ecological Park (Eeco Park).
