CCpur sees record high for 2021, lockdown ruled out for now

CCpur, May 04 2021:
Churachandpur witnessed 30 new Covid-19 cases for two consecutive days, it logs a new high for 2021, sending the local administrative machine scurrying for means to contain the spread.
On Monday it saw 30 new cases, all classified as local.
Today the record streak continued as 31 new cases were again reported in the district.
As cases gradually increased since mid-April the district saw additional curbs being imposed on shops but a meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) convened today amid mounting cases of the contagion has ruled out a complete lockdown for now.
The meeting instead laid emphasis on how to streamline monitoring of persons within the containment zone and decided to involve the Police along with village Authorities/CSOs.
It has mooted a nodal officer to be nominated by the police to monitor the containment zones.
The DDMC also felt the need to enhance the capacity of the district Covid Care Centre which currently stood at 50 .
They have also called for completion of the Oxygen plant at District Hospital within 10 days.
With the 31 new cases reported today, Churachandpur currently has 150 active cases.
