Republic Day held at Khengjoy

Chandel, January 28 2015:
6 DOGRA of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) celebrated Republic Day with civil administration at Khengjoi village in Chandel district on January 26 .
The programme commenced with the unfurling of the National tricolour and singing of National anthem.
These were followed by march past of school children, said a statement issued by Memi Mary.
Over 150 school children along with parents and teachers participated in the celebration.
The event concluded with prize distribution to the winners and participants.
Other than Ch Memi Mary, the SDO of Khengjoy, the programme was attended by Lt Wagesh Kumar Tiwari, post commander, Bir Bahadur Company, 6th DOGRA Regiment and Seikhothang Haokip, member, ADC Chandel as the presidium members.
Speaking at the function, Memi Mary stressed on the need to contribute collectively in order to implement the Central Government sponsored schemes successfully in Khengjoy sub-division.
Addressing the gathering, Lt Wagesh Kumar Tiwari assured to co-operate in maintaining peace and harmony in the area.
Chief guest Memi Mary also presented blankets, sports materials and other gift items to the villagers.
Similar programmes were also conducted at Molcham and Phaisanjang villages, added the press release.
