Red Shield flags in NIT team

Imphal, January 17 2015 :
The National Integration tour (NIT) organised by Tamenglong Battalion of Senapati Brigade under the aegis of Red Shield Division was flagged in by the Commander, Senapati Brigade at Senapati on January 15 .
According to a PIB Defence Wing statement, the 15-day long tour to Jaipur and Ajmer comprised 25 students and two teachers from the remote areas of Tamenglong District of Manipur.
During the tour, the children interacted with Lt Gen HJS Sachdeva, SM, Chief of Staff, South Western Command.
The students visited historical places like War Memorial, City Palace, Jal Mahal, Amber Palace and Birla Planetarium.
At Jaipur, the team also visited Emmanuel Mission Senior Secondary School where they played a friendly football match with school students, participated in a choir song and interacted with students.
The students also visited Military School, Ajmer during the tour.
This tour provided the students from remote areas of Tamenglong District an opportunity to learn about various cultures and gave an insight of life in other parts of the Nation.
It was a memorable trip since many students had the opportunity to travel in the train for the first time.
The students also developed interpersonal relationships and realised how peaceful environment assists in personal development as well as the development of the state, the statement said.
During the interaction with the students, Commander Senapati Brigade brought out that children are the building blocks of Nation and the Security Forces are committed to provide them the best exposure to broaden their horizon through such Military Civic Action Projects.
The students thanked the Red Shield Division for giving them such a unique opportunity.
During the flagging in ceremony, the students were presented with a certificate of appreciation and memento by Commander Senapati Brigade, the statement added.
