RPF claims responsibility for Machi strike on AR

Secretary Publicity of Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) Roben Khuman has claimed that successful attacks by PLA, the armed wing of the proscribed outfit on Indian Army, from both directions simultaneously at Machi Lamkhai under Tengnoupal police station in Chandel district on January 14, derailed the celebration of Indian Army Day in Manipur on January 15 .
In a statement, Roben Khuman said that many Indian soldiers belonging to 24 Assam Rifles and 20 Assam Rifles were killed and others inflicted injuries in the twin attack carried out using sophisticated weapons like Assault Rifles, UMG, M-79 and RPG, etc, as part of the Operation Willy Civet under the Tactical Command of PLA.
The slain soldiers and injured have been evacuated in five ambulances and helicopter.
The extent of the exact casualties caused would be known by the officials of IGAR (S), 57 Mountain Division, their informers and the family members of the deceased/injured, Roben Khuman added.
