The State Govt has set up a five member core group with Principal Secretary (election) as the chairman to work out details in consultation with DONER and Confederation of Indian Industries for staging the 1st India-Asean Car Rally that would pass through Manipur.
The rally will be flagged off from Guwahati on November 22 afternoon.
Various other committees and sub-committees have also been set up to ensure smooth passage of the proposed rally that would also include mini rally from each district headquarters so as to converge at Khuman Lampak, Imphal on November 24.While the task for selection of three district representatives each have been assigned to respective DCs Manipur State is likely to nominate five teams for participation at the flag off on the India leg from Guwahati.
In respect of Senapati district representative the selected persons would join the rally from Mao Gate and proceed upto Moreh via Imphal.
The car rally is scheduled to reach upto Singapore.
Meanwhile, the core group is also assigned to prepare in details the Chief Minister�s itinerary at the Chief Minister�s conclave to be held at Guwahati on Nov 23 where besides the NE CMs, Ministers and representatives of Asean countries would also attend to discuss on trade and commerce amongst the member nations neighboring countries.
