Cross examination of a Major of 17 Assam Rifles began today in the ongoing Thangjam Manorama Death Inquiry in-camera at the premises of Imphal Central Jail here.
The State sponsored panel headed by C Upendra, a retired District Judge conducted examination-in-chief on the Major yesterday.
The cross examination of the Army Officer would continue tomorrow, sources said.
The Inquiry panel has just concluded examination-in-chief of the 17 Assam Rifles CO Colonel Jagmohon Singh.
Meanwhile, the two 17 AR jawans, who are yet to give their blood samples for DNA testing have not carried out the process till today, said RIMS Forensic department sources.
Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal would conduct its hearing tomorrow on the application filed by OC Irilbung PS requesting to allow for conducting DNA test on the personnel of 17 AR involved in the arrest and subsequent killing of 32-year old Manorama Devi.
The Court defused the case yesterday as requested by the Addl Public Prosecutor (APP).
