Chaoba likens blast to L&O failure

Strongly condemning the bomb blast triggered by unknown miscreants at Singjamei Chingamakhong last evening that slain two and left 18 wounded, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Manipur Pradesh president Thounaojam Chaoba Singh contended that the deadly explosion within the capital city clearly hints at failure of the law and order mechanism.
Speaking to newspersons after inquiring conditions of in-jured persons undergoing treatment at Govt and private medical centres today, Chaoba observed that miscreants succeeding in planting and exploding bombs in areas having substantial presence of security force personnel are telltale signs of the Govt's failure on the law and order front.
Stating that his recent visit to New Delhi included calling on many central party leaders and Ministers of the NDA Government, he said at a particular meeting with Rajnath Singh yesterday, the new Union Home Minister the latter not only expressed shock and serious angst on the blast but also sought a detailed report on the matter from the Chief Minister within 48 hours.
Along with informing that Rajnath Singh directly talked with Chief Minister Ibobi Singh soon after getting report of the blast claiming two lives and leaving many injured, the state BJP chief also said he would be seeking an appointment with the CM to discuss on the prevailing law and order situation on Manipur.
maintaining that he would be updating the Union home Minister on any issues related to the State's law and order in addition to proposing adequate ex-gratia payment and financial assistance to victims and the injured persons, Chaoba also declared that BJP volunteers are prepared to donate blood to the victims if the need arise.
Earlier in the afternoon, he personally enquired conditions of the injured persons who are undergoing treatment at different medical centres and provided monetary assistance to them.
Terming the blast as dastardly and unwarranted, the former MP made a fervent appealed to all concerned to refrain from such inhuman act in the future.
Besides claiming the lives of two migrant workers the powerful explosion at a market shed left 18 persons injured.
After nearly 10 days' stay in the national capital, Chaoba returned here today.
