Imphal, February 13 2015 :
CPI National Secretary Atul Kumar Anjan has lambasted both BJP and Congress apart from hurl-ing a flurry of questions at Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh who is currently at Imphal on an official visit to the Northeastern States.
The 21st State conference of CPI, Manipur State Council was opened today at the hall of Huiyen Lallong Thang-Ta Cultural Association, Irilbung, Imphal East.
CPI National secretary Atul Kumar Anjan, National Council Member Ning-thoujam Mangi, National executive member Dr Moirang- them Nara, other party leaders and leaders of other Left parties like CPM, RSP and Forward Bloc attended the opening function as presidium members.
The conference was preceded by a procession from Kangla to Irilbung which brought sacred fire from the historic fort.
After the ceremonial lamp was lit up by Dr M Nara, N Mangi unfurled the party's flag.
This was followed by offering of tributes to the party's expired leaders and comrades.
Speaking at the conference, Atul Kumar Anjan de- manded that Rajnath, on behalf of BJP and the Central Government, should tender an apology to the people of the Northeastern region for terming people from the region as immigrants in the BJP's vision document published ahead of the Delhi Assembly election which concluded recently.

Pointing out that Rajnath boldly declared to repeal AFSPA from Manipur during the Lok Sabha election campaign at Imphal, Atul Kumar Anjan asked as to why Rajnath is silent on the issue when he has become the country's Home Minister.
India is now at a crossroads and democracy is losing its meaning in the country.
There is no respite in the attacks against the Constitution and there is a growing threat of communalism.
All these communal elements are being promoted by BJP and its allies.
Intrinsically, BJP is pro-corporate and pro-capitalism.
In another word, they are anti-poor and anti-people.
BJP is one party which says one thing, does exactly the opposite, Atul Kumar Anjan asserted.
Whereas the BJP Government is unable to control inflation, the party has been scheming to score political mileage by segregating the society with its "Ghar Waapshi" campaign.
BJP is bent on heralding an unprecedented trend of privatization.
In addition to victimizing labourers by enacting new labour laws, BJP has been working to grab land from poor people by introducing many ordinances.
Narendra Modi's "Maan Ki Baat" should be read as "Maan Ki Chaal".
Narendra Modi is a liar habituated to making big but empty promises, Atul Kumar alleged.
He went on to asked if there were/are any freedom fighters among the leaders of BJP.
Turning his tirade to Congress party, Atul Kumar said that Congress killed themselves by adopting neo-liberal economic policy which was accelerated by rampant corruption.
The three-day conference would deliberate on some key issues of Manipur like territorial integrity, AFSPA, Inner Line Permit System and political dialogue with insurgent groups.
