Imphal, February 13 2015 :
The Joint Committee on MSDP has urged the authorities concerned to remove Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West M Joy and Director of Minority and Other Backward Class (MOBC) from their official posts for alleged violation of the guidelines of Multi Sectoral Development Programme (MSDP) .
Talking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here on Thursday, Convenor of Joint Committee on MSDP Development Programme MD Wahidur Rahman said that there has been diversion from the guidelines of Multi Sectoral Development Programmes (MSDP).
Only four minority students are enrolled at Moirangpurel High School under Andro assembly constituency and the area is not predominantly settled by minority communities.
Schools covered by Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) schemes cannot implement Multi Sectoral Develop-ment Programmes (MSDP), Wahidur contended.
It may be recalled that Th Shyamkumar claimed that ninety percent of students of Moirangpurel High School are from the minority communities and the area has high concentration of minority communities, though less settled by Muslims, as such there is no distortion of guidelines in allocation of funds under MSDP in the school on February 9 .
Rahman expressed dismay on the fact that Multi Sectoral Development Programme (MSDP) is to be undertaken by the Deputy Commi-ssioner and the inference of political representatives and MLAs in MSDP has twisted the guidelines.
Pleading for strict adherence to guidelines on MSDP, the convenor warned that any deviation from the prescribed norms will call resistance from the public.
