Governor, CM extend Lui-Ngai-Ni greetings

Governor of Manipur Dr KK Paul and Chief Minister Okram Ibobi have extended warm greetings to the people of Manipur, especially the Nagas on the joyous occasion of Lui-Ngai-Ni festival.
In his message, Governor Dr Paul said that Lui-Ngai-Ni is a festival celebrated by all Nagas of Manipur on February 15 every year for a bountiful and bumper harvest.
Apart from its tradition and customary attributes, the festival has now become popular as a tourist festival also bringing all communities together irrespective of caste, creed or religion.
In his message, Chief Minister Ibobi said that Lui-Ngai-Ni, the seed sowing festival, is one of the biggest festivals of the Nagas.
The festival assumes much significance as it not only occupies a unique position among the Nagas, but also among the people in the Northeast East for peaceful coexistence and harmony among different communities.
President of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Gaikhangam also wished the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Lui-Ngai-Ni.
