Holding Indian leaders responsible for the masses, including Manipuris, enduring severe hardships even after decades of gaining independence, People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak-Progressive (PREPAK-PRO) even accused Mahatma Gandhi of helping the British Government slay many Indians.
A PREPAK-Pro statement issued by its chairman Paliba M on the eve of the outfit's 36th foundation anniversary, claimed that Mahatma Gandhi formed Indian Ambulance Corp to assist the british forces in the 1899 Boer War when the torch-bearer of non-violence was in South Africa.
Paliba claimed that Gandhi's ideology on satyagrah and non-violence as well as moral and spiritual values failed to prevent Hindu-Muslim violence.
Inferring that ongoing tension and frequent communal clashed between the two communities is a fallout of parochial policy of Indian leaders, the chairman referring to Mahatma Gandhi's quote: 'Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes', concluded that the said 'mistake' is best exemplified by the global reference to India as 'land of crime and land of corruption' .

Further maintaining that Gandhi staunchly opposed British Government's proposal for a separate electorate for the socially ostracised Dalit community, PREPAK (Pro) reminded that in an interview (1955) Dr Ambedkar questioned wisdom of conferring the Mahatma status on Gandhi, thus indicating that not every Indians believed in Gandhi's principle.
The fact that Gandhi's non-violence doctrine is meaningless at the present juncture is being glaringly exposed by Irom Chanu Sharmila as her 13 years of democratic movement for protecting human rights continues to be disregarded by the Indian Government.
In case Indian freedom fighters adopted a similar movement like Sharmila's, it would have been possible for India to gain independence year before 1947, opined the chairman.
The armed group also recounted India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal nehru as a national character who defied the UNO's decision that plebiscite be held to decide on the Kashmir issue.
If the Indian Prime Minister could even disregard resolution of the global body it is only natural to conclude that India would resort to any means to annex Manipur which was eventually illustrated by the infamous Merger Agreement of 1949, said the chairman referring to alleged forcible inclusion of Manipur into the Indian union.
Contrary to Jawaharlal nehru's projection of India as a secular and democratic nation his concept was abused by non other than his own daughter Indira Gandhi who misled national leaders to impose President Rule in Communist-ruled Kerala in 1959 soon after she became the Indian national Congress president.
later in 1975, as Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi proclaiming 'Emergency Rule' violated human rights and curtailed freedom of speech thus ruling the country as a dictator.
Justifying ongoing insurgency movement in Manipur, Paliba said the armed campaign is merely to regain the lost sovereignty under India whose national character was built on the legacy left by the british ruler.
Contrary to the british ruler responsible for shaping India from am entirely non-existent entity when it first set foot, Manipur (Kangleipak) was already an independent nation with a vibrant econo-my in the WESEA (Western South East Asia) region, a situation which the insurgency campaign is trying to restore, maintained the chairman.
He also noted that incidents of people from the North East region, mainly students, subjected to harsh treatment including sexual assault of female students, not only reflect mainland India's discriminatory attitude but a testimony that Indians have gone one step further than the british rulers in terms of prejudice mindset.
