Assam Rifles School, Maram celebrates Annual Day

Assam Rifles School, Maram celebrated its Annual Day function at Pancham Hall today with an endeavour to promote its vision on developing faculties of students for making them honest, committed and dynamic citizens of the country.
First lady of Manipur Kiran Jagat, wife of Governor Gurbachan Jagat graced the occasion as the chief guest while Geetika Dubey, President ARWWA of 5th Assam Rifles was the guest of honour, a statement said.
The First Lady was presented with the 'School Annual Report' and vision of 5 Assam Rifles as a part of the function.
Enthusiastic students of the school staged performances on various environment related topics and others.
Speaking at the occasion, Kiran Jagat lauded the efforts of students and teachers while also acknowledging the contribution of the school in imparting high quality education to students and thus shaping the future generations, it said.

Exhorting the parents to continuously provide their children with opportunities of growth so that they can blossom into a well rounded personality who is a conscienctious citizen of the country, she said the nation not only needs bright students but a sensitive and caring students who value each and every resource that is available with them.
Greeting the gatherings, Principal of the school, R Raja said a good education is one that stands by throughout life while colourfully quoting Ralph Waldo Emerson saying 'Our greatest glory is not in failing but in rising up every time we fail' .
"If moral values and characters could be developed by giving lectures then the world should have been a utopia by now" he said.
The Principal also mentioned the need for games in schools to help build in children a sense of cooperation and unity.
The performance of Lilliput Dance by the students enthralled the audiences and the celebration came to an end with soulful rendition of 'Meri Desh Ki Dharti' .
