Imphal, February 17 2015:
The 6th death anniversary of Dr Kishan, Token and Rajen was observed today at Mapari Ningshingkon adjoining Cheirap Court complex under the aegis of the Mapari Ningshingkon Lup (MANIL) .
Offering of floral tributes to the trio and presentation of hymns and patriotic songs were the main features of the death anniversary function.
Chief guest of the function PDA Chairman Tongbram Mangibabu while recalling that the way the three were bludgeoned to death was spine-chilling, prayed that such terrifying killings may not happen again.
He also appealed to all the people to be wary of all those communal elements.
They were murdered in cold blood and all the people of Manipur, both hill people and plain people condemned the murder in a single voice.
The main accused Hopeson Ningshen has been sentenced to life imprisonment and he might have now realized the devil that once resided within his soul, said Mangibabu.
Even though there is no official document in PDA about construction of a memorial tomb for Dr Kishan, Token and Rajen at Mapari Ningshingkon, the matter would be considered soon as the Chief Minister has reportedly agreed in principle to construct a memorial tomb.
Centre for Human Rights Education, Manipur University faculty member Dr Gaikhamsin Riamei underscored the value of human rights and importance of mutual respect.
MANIL Chairman S Tikendrajit and Prof L Sadananda were also present at the gathering.
