Various Moreh based civil society organisations have warned of resorting to intense form of agitation including sealing of the border and Moreh bandh if the Indian and Myanmar authorities fail to trace the whereabouts of two Indians who had gone missing from Tamu, Myanmar on Feb 11 .
Sanvendar Singh alias Jacky Singh (30) of Chandpur, Bijnoor district, UP and Daljeet Singh (33) of Ghatkoper (West) Amrut Nagar, Mumbai had reportedly gone missing from Tamu in Myanmar on Feb 11.The two persons along with four others had entered Tamu after obtaining gate pass from the Myanmar Immigration Counter at Gate No 2 .
Demanding the authority concerned of both countries to trace the whereabouts of the two missing persons, all the community leaders of Moreh have warned of launching intense agitation from midnight of Feb 18 if the authorities concerned fail to response by 3 pm (IST) of Feb 18 .
The All Community Leaders of Moreh �HTC, MCM, Tamil Sangam, MMCM, ACODOM and KWUHR, have submitted separate representations in this regard to ADC, Moreh and District Chairman, Sagaing Region, Tamu district of Myanmar.
At the same time, the Border Trade and Chamber of Commerce, Moreh has urged the District Chairman, Tamu District of Myanmar to act fast in tracing the two missing persons.
According to a representation submitted to the DC of Tamu, the BTCC Moreh said that six persons belonging to the Sikh community had crossed the border to Tamu from Gate No 2 around 8am of Feb 11 after obtaining the required entry ticket on payment of Rs for each person and depositing their I-cards to the authority.
After reaching Tamu, the group of touring cum sales persons divided themselves into three teams of two persons each.
When the mobile phone of one of the missing persons was in switch off mode, the rest returned to Moreh around 1pm.Worried about the non-return of two of their friends, they reported the matter to the Immigration Authorities at Gate No 2 .
The matter was also reported to the Immigration Office (SDPO) Moreh on Feb 12 and to 9 AR the next day.
